I watched CATS on Sunday night. It was really good! The cast is amazing - they can sing and dance and act so well all at the same time. Nancy said if you used binoculars to see them close-up, the expressions on their faces are priceless; they are that into their characters (: The set's interesting too; I like the way the cats can come out on stage at different levels 'cause there are like holes everywhere for them to appear and disappear from. Haha. I'd very much have preferred the music to be played by a live orchestra, but the effects were conveyed alright still. The catchy, swinging jazz and the drums etc etc: so nice! :D

Some random lines stuck in my head:
"The Rum Tum Tugger is a curious cat"
"Never was there ever a cat so clever as magical Mr Mistofelees!"
"Macavity's not there!"
"Rumpleteaser" in a very high voice, with a very British/Australian accent haha.

And then they'll slink out of nowhere and come up right beside you. Beware. They might let the cat out of the bag.

Quite a few of us went on the same night by coincidence. Sam, Evan and Mel hehheh. But I didn't get to meet Mel ):

Anyhow History PT and work are trying to get the better of me. Trying ><>

I don't know why I've been in a very I-wanna-sleep mood lately. Lazy mood. Haha.
Soccer has been quite fun :D Although I must get used to my poor slight-muddy shoes every single time we have PE.

Haha eh nothing much to blog about. Anyway I now have chem tuition so hopefully my sucky chem won't suck so much!

This long weekend was pretty fun (aside from 3 bao zhang du hou gan's and worrying about history PT haha).

On Friday I went ice skating at Kallang with Mel, Denali, Kenneth and Serene. It was supposed to be a cell outing but so many couldn't make it :P. It was fun but I still can't really skate anyway. Anyway the Pastamania pesto thing that I ordered totally wasn't nice at all because it was supposed to be a basil pasta and there wasn't even any basil taste to it. Whatever -.- It was raining super heavily when we were leaving and only when I was at the bus stop did I realise that I had left my jacket at the rink!! So I had to go back and get it and luckily it was still there (: PHEW.

At night was my grand aunt's birthday dinner at St Regis Hotel and my, was the food awesomely delicious! (I get to eat for free eh!) The service was quite good too. What I liked best was the dessert. Mm yum yum yum man. And we got to dress up too lol!

Saturday was cell and dinner at my aunt's place, and today we attended Emmanuel's baptism service which was an interesting experience albeit really chaotic HAHA. He's so cute! :D :D After that we went to this place at Telok Kurau called Garden Slug. The food's quite unique and it was nice! (:

As you can see I didn't really have much time this weekend to do History PT so I'll be good this week and try not to do anything after school so that I'll have time to work on it. Muahaha. But what a fun weekend!

Today was rather fun (:

We wanted to watch today's afternoon session but were only allowed in for RI's. Anyway I thoroughly enjoyed their choice piece and I don't know why they got what they got. The same as us. So weird. I wonder how MO feels about it all. ):

After that I went out with my aunt and we (over-)ate at Soup Spoon in Raffles City. Kind of anyway. Awesome things Soup Spoon offers:
Mushroom soup!
Breaded mushrooms stuffed with mozzarella!
YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM :D

I am so glad Good Friday's a holiday. And thank you Lord for giving your all for me. I must learn how to be thankful for...things. Even though sometimes these little mundane things might seem annoying or inconvenient etc.

title: Bumming around isn't my cup of tea

Nowadays I seem a bit too free. Yeah of course, 'cause it's band break. So I'm using this time to catch up on sleep, work and relaxation. (: I'm so bu fu qi that I couldn't go for jazz yesterday because I hadn't finished looking through the dumb probability thing for today. Sam said it was so fun! ): Plus Laura's a really nice teacher.

I did kinda badly for History ._. Better do properly for PT. Which I haven't started on (duh) but I'm am gonna make sure this makes up for the dumb SBQ.

I don't know what to blog about. Haha today I actually wrote a note on Facebook. Usually I can't really be bothered. It's like those blog quizzes ha.

OH YA OH YA!
I got this! 4 gig! Haven't filled up my nano yet haha.
And I got 60 pounds for my grade 7 theory. Too bad the pound's low -.-

SILVER.

I'd really like to remember this date, this time, this event that we had together that I really really enjoyed and was happy with. Yes I know, the last six-letter word over there was so upsetting and shocking to me when it was announced. It is still is even now. But I cannot dispute the fact that I really enjoyed what we did onstage. I think everyone enjoyed it so much that we expected a Gold, dare I say a GwH? I just felt so happy onstage all the time when I saw Mr Oura smiling at parts and even when he wasn't I was still feeling happy because the music I heard was so nice, maybe even heartrending.

Today Mr O and Ms Lim came down to talk to us. Well it is very strange how it's possible to forget some things immediately after you've been told them, because I very soon forgot what Mr O said to us. But these are the kinds of things that will come back when something to do with them is mentioned. Nevertheless I have made the extra effort to remember what Mr O had to say and what I really liked was a comment he said his friend had made about us, that we were the only band that attempted to make music instead of just producing sound. I think that emotion makes so much difference to me (if not to the judges, but definitely to me) and no matter what that result it is, that kind of pales in comparison to the wonderful experience we enjoyed on stage. Everyone, feeling and thinking and making music, as one rgssb. Especially with such a beautiful beautiful piece as Turandot (in Mr Ong's words, "high-class music" haha). Which also happens to have my name in it (:

Mr O himself said he felt really happy on stage. I enjoyed it, the band enjoyed it, Mr O enjoyed it, the audience enjoyed it. I think that in itself is so much more precious than the result we got.

I didn't feel we played Silver standard, but there are some things we can't change. All we can do is accept it with grace ;) The emotionless-ness of superficiality shall NOT reign in rgssb, and the negative comments from people who don't understand will do nothing at all to dampen our emotions and strength.

And actually I was quite surprised that we had so many supporters and hey, thanks for coming. The principal, vp and some teachers actually came down, and Tell-The-Girls-They-Can-Kick-Ass Francis Tan came down too, with his big umbrella. I thought after AC got their GwH then, yknow. So I was surprised. But after all he still was our RB instructor. Haha. And our seniors too, who never fail to attend any of our public performances, were there (: Of course, all my friends who've wished me all the best before our big day. Thanks for your faith, support and encouragement.

Here you are: the best band in my eyes <3

And I want to emphasise how beautiful an instrument the French Horn is. Its sound so mellow and rounded, yet so brassy and full. Something like a reassuring caress. Its beauty is just so, and I'm really glad that I've been able to play it such that it produces music I love hearing.
I'm proud of the way we accepted it and the way the leaders handled it, and so, :D.
